Day 14 Water tower
This is the Anaheim water tower. It is located just off the 5 Freeway at Euclid. According to some things I've read, the tower is not owned by the city of Anaheim, nor is it hooked up in any way to the municipal water system. Back in the day, water towers were plentiful and they existed mainly as a way to maintain water pressure and supply throughout a limited area. With powerful pumps and other engineering techniques, water towers are no longer commonly used by cities in Orange County.

Oh ya! The water tower thing! I have wondered about these things for quite a while. In fact, I almost photographed one in Winters last week. I'll bet most of them don't work, but are instead really just a landmark for the city. Great photo!
